Help Us Protect Our Community from Overdevelopment in Wyke

We need your support to defend our local area from a large housing development proposed for land off Hudson View, Wyke. Jones Homes (Yorkshire) Limited intends to build up to 90 new dwellings on approximately 5.22 hectares of currently agricultural land — a site known for its open, rural character and valuable biodiversity.

This proposed development could drastically change the landscape of our community — increasing traffic, putting pressure on local infrastructure, and threatening the natural environment we all value. While the leaflet outlines plans for green space and ecological enhancements, we know from experience that promises don’t always translate into practice.

That’s why we’re raising funds to appoint a professional planning consultant to represent local residents and ensure our voices are heard in the planning process. A planning consultant will help us:

• Scrutinise the developer’s application and environmental claims

• Highlight any issues or breaches of local planning policies

• Present a strong, evidence-based objection to the council

• Advocate for better community outcomes and sustainable alternatives
