Neighborworks & NAMIBIA Mission - 2023 !!!
Donation protected
Hello Everyone:
As many of you know - Beth and I have made serving a priority for our family. Our first effort in 2006 was the Friends Project, where we funded building a home through Habitat For Humanity for a great local family. I have traveled to Moldova, Mexico, Haiti, Senegal, and Liberia and served on and led many projects here in the US. We have done all types of service, from working in orphanages to teaching, well drilling, roofing, general construction projects, a ton of relationship building, and just connecting with people.
This year We have two excellent projects - a local effort in a continued partnership with Neighbworks of NH and a mission trip to Namibia - and for the first time internationally - my daughter Sawyer will join the team.
NAMIBIA - 2023:
- I have been working to bring a team to Namibia since 2018 and am very excited that it will now happen. Pastor Domingo Kamonga, his wife Natalia and their three children have faithfully served their community's needs in Windhoek, Namibia. Several years ago, they began the construction of a district center (things in Africa take a long time) and slowly, block by concrete block, they have made progress. The center will serve as an educational facility, library, and gathering place for the community and area pastors and missionaries. It will also be the focal point of their programs for feeding, clothing and caring for children.
- Our team will be focused on roofing the facility, constructing a library and completing interior walls.
NeighborWorks:
Neighborworks ( http://nwsnh.org/ ) does much more than help with housing - they work to connect people to the community and come alongside them for the long term to ensure they thrive. Neighborworks does a great job of providing access to affordable housing and resources to help those families and individuals get on and stay on their feet. We build connections that link communities together - people helping each other. In past years we funded Christmas gifts for children and services like dental work, gas cards, furnishings and transportation. There are several organizations now paired with them to meet these needs. This year we have seen more families struggling to pay rent. Our goal is to ease that burden for several families. We will use a process to select families and look for those situations where hard-working individuals, single parents or elderly individuals have faced circumstances that have seen them fall behind in rent and are facing eviction. The funds raised are paid directly to landlords on their behalf and according to agreed-upon criteria (continued employment, etc.) and schedules. I have met a few of the families already, and I can tell you that this will be an incredible blessing to some struggling people!
Please consider supporting us. You can email me or call me with any questions. These are both incredible organizations and people in need of assistance.
Thank you so much! God Bless and a have wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!!
