HI, My name is Keesha and I'm fundraising for Darneece and her late mother Marilyn (Neicy)

The love of her life...

After a lengthy battle with liver cancer, Darneece lost her mom, her best friend and the love of her life, Marilyn Holmes. Marilyn, also known as Neicy to family and friends was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. Despite the pain that her body endured every day for years, she lived each day to the fullest. She was always happy from sun up until sun down. She kept her spirits up and had plenty of time to lift others.

In 2021, the doctors stopped treatment because it was not effective anymore. She was then placed in hospice and was given 6 months to live. To many doctor’s surprise, she surpassed that time and lived another year and a half. She held on for as long as she could for her only daughter, Darneece, because she didn’t want to leave her without a mother. Her fight became too much to bear and she gained her wings on October 30, 2023. The last words she heard from her daughter Darneece was that she loved her and it was ok to let go.

Being the only child, Darneece dealt with every appointment, hospital visit, doctor calls, 911 calls and the day to day job of maintaining the house while working full time. She dedicated all of her free time to taking care of her mother until the end.

Due to preexisting medical conditions, there was a 2 year maturity date before the insurance could be used. Therefore, Neicy’s family did not have a chance to cash out on the insurance policy, leaving all of the expenses to come out of pocket.

Neicy was a blessing to all of those she came in contact with. At this time, I am asking you to help bless Darneece and her family in their time of need. Of course, any amount is welcomed as well as your prayers.
