Neena is one of our dedicated cleaners, known for her bright smile and warm presence. She’s always the one greeting everyone with a cheerful “hello” or offering to share food. Despite the personal challenges she faces at home, she brings an unmatched positivity that brightens the space every day. In the past few years, Neena’s life has been turned upside down in ways most of us could never imagine.

She lost her home in a devastating fire. Not long after, her husband passed away, leaving her to raise their 11 year old son and 16 year old daughter on her own. Her son, who is autistic and non-verbal, has always been her greatest joy and the center of her world.

Now, life has dealt another heartbreaking blow — her son has been diagnosed with leukemia. For the past two months, they have been at BC Children’s Hospital, enduring treatment and endless tests. Neena has been by his side every single day, unable to work, and is now facing severe financial hardship on top of the emotional toll.

Between travel expenses, basic living costs, and the mounting bills, Neena is struggling to keep her head above water while focusing on what matters most: being there for her son during his fight for life.
