Neeley Family Emergency Fund

Donation protected

The Neeley Family’s home that they built from the ground up caught on fire Monday morning. Nick and Andrea moved into Nick’s childhood home in Canton, Texas a few years ago once their first of two children arrived. They put hundreds, literally hundreds, of hours of blood, sweat, and tears into renovating the home from a bare shell into their dream home. They stood and watched in heartbreak as it disappeared in minutes.

Please read the whole message about this fundraiser and share with anyone who will listen.

Their dogs were barking at the fire that started on their patio and woke the family up, saving their lives. They had only minutes to scramble and get out of the house before the ceiling caved in and their home was taken. Everyone got out in time with no physical damage and are thankfully safe. They managed to grab a phone, wallet, the PJs they were wearing, car keys, and the two baby blankets for the kids... that’s it. Never have I seen two people be so strong in such a devastating moment. They are so young and had literally everything taken away from them. The kids’ artwork and pictures, favorite books, birthday cards, everything is gone. They do not have insurance for the house or the belongings they lost.

Here’s a little backstory about this wonderful family. Nick is an Army veteran who owns his own home improvement company. Andrea graduated top 10% of her class in high school and majored in Biology at UNT. Their first child, Addy, was born with Gastroschisis and spent the first few months of her life in the NICU. Andrea and Nick spent every minute they could with her, holding onto the hope she would be healthy and come home soon. Andrea stopped working and Nick picked up more shifts as a server so they could be there for their baby girl until she was healthy enough to come home. Addy is extremely healthy now and in the top percentile for most things her age. Fast forward a few years, and little brother Landon has joined the clan, along with their five dogs.

Landon is two and a half and Addy turns four in a few weeks. Addy understands what happened and is being such a strong big sister. She knows her toys are gone but isn’t upset. She and Landon have their favorite blankets, and that is all that matters to them.

Nick and Andrea are the epitome of soulmates. They are truly the most amazing and genuine people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting, and keep smiling and a positive outlook on life. Even after the heartbreak of losing their home, Andrea still felt bad that the one piece of clothing I left at her house was gone. She just lost EVERYTHING, and was thinking about others.

No one should ever have to lose their home and memories; especially not the Neeleys. Nick lost his brother three years ago and being in their family home kept him close. They planted a tree in his memory on their property which was luckily not touched by the fire.

They won’t ask for help, so I am doing it for them... Anything helps. A small amount is all it takes to make a difference in the lives that deserve it. Please share the Neeley Family’s story with anyone who will listen.
