Ahmad Almashahadani is a dealing with severe pain in leg due to varicose vein and at the verge of leg amputation of both the legs.
This condition came up when he was in Iraq and tried to cross the border, ten years ago. Militants over there kidnaped and hanged him upside down for 3 days from his leg and this medical condition started from there. Though he managed to escape but never walked again normally. Whatever he has earned, he gave all to the agents who made him and his family crossed the border from where he applied to Canada. Because of his army background and education, he was accepted in the Canada on normal PR visa.
In order to immediately taking care of his family, he started working in car parts stamping plant and was doing uber to support his family with minimal per hour wage. With the addition of government's child support, he paid rent and bring food to the table.
He has been taking pain killers to control this but over time, it has worsen. Unfortunately treatment of varicose veins comes in the category of cosmetic surgery and not covered in OHIP. His pain is unbearable now and there seems no other way without money and surgery that he can walk or work again.
With Covid 19, he had lost his job and because of leg, couldn't do Uber. His expenses are covered with CRB and child support and a earlier healthy person became bed ridden. Surgeon has mentioned to urgently arrange money to have ENDOVENOUS PHARMACOLOGICAL ABLATION which will cost $5000 per leg.
