We all know Bob Shuford as a cherished friend and a respected member of our film community for many years. Bob has always had a passion for the outdoor world of camping, canoeing and mountain biking. Bob’s biggest obsession is the satisfaction of hard work and completing each job successfully.
Bob was completing a job right before the Christmas holiday when he became very ill and had to be rushed to the Canton Northside ER. It was quickly determined that there were serious complications with Bob’s kidneys. While in the hospital Bob would immediately begin dialysis three days a week. After numerous tests, and still no answers, Bob had a set back and was placed into an induced coma for several days. Fortunately, in a few days his condition stabilized, and his team of Doctors continued to evaluate his situation. Bob was released from the hospital, but the cause of the dysfunctional kidneys has yet to be diagnosed. He was doing dialysis three days a week up until yesterday when he was again rushed to the ER. He has been placed back into an induced coma to again try to stabilize his condition. Once he is stabilized the doctors will probably place him on dialysis 5 days a week. The Doctors are still performing tests and Bob may ultimately require surgery to determine the cause of his illness.
As you can imagine this has turned Bob’s world upside down and has placed an enormous level of stress on Bob both physically and mentally. Currently, he is unable to work and does not have the resources to adequately meet his $6,000.00 a month financial need. We do not know what the future holds for Bob, however we remain positive that he will make a full recovery.
As he continues his battle, would you as friends of our caring community please help Bob by praying that the Doctors find a way to help heal our dear friend. We hope you will also find it in your heart to assist Bob with a donation of what you can and as often as you can to lend a hand with his living and medical expenses. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
We encourage everyone to share this message via social media and email or text so that we can reach out to everyone that has been a part of Bob’s life through the years and has been touched by his friendship, guidance and that heartwarming smile of his!
