Ray needs housing support

UPDATE: Ray was able to find temporary housing for the summer, but she will need to move again in the fall because her current place will be too expensive to heat. She's also experienced some financial setbacks due to urgent repairs on her car, which is necessary for her to be able to work at all.
My friend Ray (name changed for privacy) needs money for housing and other basic living expenses.
She has long-term health issues, which means she can only work part-time, and she has no support from their family. Although she's lived with these health issues all her life, there was a turning point where many issues came to the surface. At that time, she lost her work, home, and existing network of social support. Sensory processing issues related to her long-term health issues made returning to the kind of work she did before impossible. Instead, she worked small part-time jobs, which also became impossible during the pandemic. Ray has finally returned to part-time work now that covid restrictions have somewhat lifted, but she does not earn enough money to cover her basic needs, especially now that she needs to find a new place to live.
Ray’s health issues also affect her housing needs. Shared housing is not an option for her, and she can’t live in densely populated areas like cities. Her need for social isolation makes housing options more expensive while also limiting her access to social networks of support.
Not only is Ray's housing insecurity a financial struggle, but it's also compounding to her health.
This fundraising goal will allow Ray to make a fresh start in a new living space to continue her necessary healing. When she has secure housing and is able to meet her basic needs, she is more able to work. One day, she hopes to build a healing community for others with similar needs. But first, she needs help meeting her own basic needs. Help stop the cycle of poverty so Ray can gain independence back.
