Luck for the Duck

Story

Hi my name is Robin and I am raising money for my younger brother Frank Jordan, we call him Duck, who recently feel into some bad luck with his health that caused him to suffer a stroke and tragically end up fighting for his life in ICU for over a month.   Frank just turned 41 in September ... he is a father, husband, son, brother, neighbor and friend to many.    Dedicated and hardworking employee in the Seabrook area of Texas, passionately loyal, off the cuff funny and sweet souled navy veteran with a fiercely dedicated family, loving & supportive wife and the father to two amazing sons. Jack & Ryder:  His first born takes on many of Franks distinguished qualities... not only handsome, but charming, dapper and handy is Jackson Kline (aka mouse or bear); who is a few months away from his 16th birthday and so close to being handed a license to drive... however, on the inside is my dads best friend and has the guts and glory like he's 75( an old soul) Frank's recent bundle of joy with his wife Tiffany, is his tough and wild lil' dude Ryder Jordan (Aunt Robin nicknamed him Ryder Racoon) will be 3 years old in January.  Ryder is a sandy blonde heartbreaker with a mischievous smile & endless energy daredevil that can do anything just like his daddy. Life has been good.  and Then. BAM. Worst phone call I could ever receive brought me to my knees on the first Saturday eve in October 2021 and tragically news of Franks sudden health spiral and crushed spirit hit our family unexpectedly when Frank was rushed to the emergency room with a grim outlook to make it much longer.  Needless to say we all rushed to his side in a ICU hospital bed in Houston unconscious strapped to a million machines with doctors frantically working minute by minute miracles and us in shock and grief  not knowing if this might be our last time to hold his hand or ever hear his voice again. The amazing nurses and doctors took command and we watched and waited as they kept him alive one more day. then one more day. then a week which lead to over a month in ICU, then a month in a nursing home and now we are here not knowing what or where to go next to insure his recovery, comfort and spirit is a prime focus for our family.  which costs money, energy and time:  all precious commodities in life.  but #1 most valuable asset is mental and physical wellbeing.  health is wealth and right now Frank is a few dollars short in starting the climb back over the fence of disparity and reclaiming his mind, body and soul.   Luckily he is home under his wife's care.  but alas here we are alone fighting for his independence and asking for help. Just a quick timeline to that tragic day that changed everything for Franks future.  He was attempting to get ready for work when his health took a turn for the worst and he had severe brain swelling causing a stoke and paralysis on his right side. we indeed thought we lost him. It was the worst 72 hours for us all as Frank fought and battled the odds in ICU and miraculously he is slowly on the road to recovery. Doctors didn't and still don't know the long term affects but today 42 days later he is slowly talking, sitting up and learning to live again! His biggest hurdle now is he has to get his body to remember how to swallow so he can eat and start gaining the strength to get stronger for PT and OT. We have faith. He has the guts. and with your help we can move mountains. we need the funds to help cover the rising costs of childcare, medical bills, nursing home copy ($2100) and monthly expenses for his wife and son since he can no longer work and provide income desperately needed to pay for mortgage, bills and food. we are scrapping by little by little with family help but anything you feel you can spare would be greatly appreciated. This way our Frank Duck can focus on recovery and not the mental stress about financials if at all possible. he is scared. we are scared. but we have each other and he wants to fight. for his family, sons, wife, job, friends. and most important his future. he's here for a reason folks and i can't wait to find out what the next chapter holds for him after he molds himself anew. hopefully wiser. stronger. kinder. and softer. we pray. one day at a time as they say. time heals. magic works. and miracles can happen if you believe it to be true. I thank you ... my family thank you ...  Frank thanks you ...  and godspeed one day soon he can call and tell you personally he appreciates every message, every donation, every thoughtful gesture to help bring him back to us.    ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Robin Bird
