UPDATING GOAL: We are close to meeting our rent and relocation cost. We are hoping to purchase our next location so we aren’t put in this situation again. We are saving for a down payment
I’m Miss Kelly, owner and founder of Miss Kelly’s Academy. We are a small community Preschool and Toddler School, serving families around ABQ for the past ten years.
We are a child focused school with an emphasis on creativity, emotional wealth, independence, accountability, and raising each child to be part of a community while fostering who they are.
Our school’s building is under new ownership (since December), last week we were given a week’s notice to agree to their new rental agreement and rent increase.
We are unable to meet their raised rent requirement, and feel their rental
agreement is unreasonable.
We want to finish the school year in our current building (our families and teachers deserve this), and then work on relocating. We will have to close for the summer, with hope to reopen in August.
We are raising funds to help us pay the difference in rent from February-May, relocating costs, renovating the new building to meet licensing requirements , and any extra will be used to grow a down payment.
Our hearts ache having to ask our
community and families for help. We are upset by our current circumstance but we know our school is worthy and we will not let it down.
We are forever grateful for each family that passes through our school and impacts our lives.
