Needed Water Truck
The Royce W Anderson Family Arena at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility is home to many Cowboy Mounted Shooters, their families and friends. Unlike any other in the United States, these arena grounds provide shooters exclusive use with the freedom to practice, compete, and enjoy the sport of Cowboy Mounted Shooting for a low cost. The Ben Avery Development is a 501c non profit organization that is committed to the care and maintenance of the facility, along with fund-raising efforts so that all may continue to enjoy it. Without volunteers, donations and sponsorships, there is no other method that this facility earns money to keep it running. It is for the shooters, by the shooters.
From nothing but raw land, previous fundraising efforts and sponsorship has built two 200x300 arenas, one warmup arena, covered stalls, an announcer tower and wash rack. Last year, the ground in the West arena was restored thanks to many monetary donations along with Coombs Construction, and their donation of sand.
Despite the ongoing Pandemic, we have remained diligent in keeping the arena open for practices twice per week and events on an as scheduled basis. It is with many unpaid volunteers who work countless hours to maintain the grounds and upkeep of the facility.
We are in desperate need of a water truck to help continue to maintain appropriate footing in the arenas, ensuring horse and rider safety. The truck we currently own is inoperable despite many failed attempts of repair. It is dead and cannot be revived. We have found a used truck that is available for purchase; our goal is to raise $11,000 for this truck in the month of March and April 2021.
100% of the funds raised will go into the arena facility, with the water truck purchase being the first item on the list. Any and all donations are tax deductible.
No amount is too small.
