Cure Peritoneal Cancer

Donation protected
In November 2013, I was diagnosed with metastatic mucinous adeno carcinoma. This is a rare form of cancer located in the peritoneum cavity (abdomen). In December 2013 I began two-week cycles of chemotherapy until April. In mid-May 2014 I had Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) surgery. The eleven-hour surgery went well and in September I had my my first check-up and the blood-work and ct scan indicated the cancer had been removed and my health was improving.  In November, my second check-up indicated the cancer had returned. I am now preparing for additional chemotherapy cycles as of January 2015.

Peritoneal malignancies are rare types of cancer and unfortunately there is less funding available for research and infrastructure for these unique cancers. With your help funds will go to the Vancouver General Hospital and University of British Columbia Foundation. Its time to Cure Peritoneal Cancer.
