Madhu is a 5 year old little kid of my friend who lives in India is suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) Blood Cancer.
Around October 2018, Madhu had recurrent very high fever. He was hospitalized in his locality to get treatment for high fever. Madhu’s health condition started deteriorating and blood counts dropped drastically.
After several tests, blood work, blood transfusions, various X-rays, ultra sounds, etc. Madhu was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in Dec2018- A deadly form of cancer that start with the bone marrow where new blood cells are produced.
Madhu was a very active and cheerful kid and it was very hard for anyone in the family to hear the worst ever news that – MADHU HAS CANCER, they were completely in shock and admitted Madhu in Little Starts Children’s Hospital, Nagarjuna Circle, Punjagutta, Hyderabad, Telangana 500082 for treatment. Madhu has to undergo multiple rounds of chemotherapy and blood infusion process.
Madhu has to undergo the treatment for three years and Doctors estimated a cost of 6,00,000 Indian Rupees (Approximately $9,000) for 3 years of treatment . This is an estimation from hospitals and Mr.Arjun - Father of Madhu has already spent more than the estimated amount in the period of 4 months of treatment. 2.8 years of treatment is still pending for the Kid to get rid of this cancer.
Even before having the actual disease diagnosed for Madhu, Arjun had spent almost 1 lakh of Indian rupees for the treatment at local hospitals.
Since the hospital charges are not limited to a certain value and for first four months they already spent 6 Lakhs of Indian Rupees, we are planning for a goal of $10,000 USD.
Madhu’s father – Arjun is from a remote village in Andhra Pradesh, India and has a small grocery shop in village.
Right from the day Madhu was diagnosed with CANCER, Arjun and his wife had to completely move out of the village to Hyderabad to stay with Madhu for his treatment. They have to stay in a rented place close by hospital for easy commute and to handle emergency situation during treatment for three consecutive years.
Entire Cost of treatment is a huge lot of money for Arjun and his wife to manage and afford. Arjun has spent all of his hard earned money till now to the initial level of treatment.
Madhu has been a true fighter and he has been fighting through the tough health situation for the past 7 months and I am sure that he will be able to pass through this odd phase with all your blessings and support.
