Introduction:

Hey, my name is Ivan, I'm a 19-year-old male from Norway; my mother and I are going through a tough patch and could use any possible help we can get. After our dog passed in August, everything went downhill, like he was the only person keeping us together and happy. Now, mourning is far from the only thing on our minds. I was hesitant about making this post at first, as I know many people out there struggle much more than my mother and I. We aren't exactly homeless or dying, but right now, it's come to a point where I feel like if nothing changes soon, we might actually end up homeless. I was unsure of how much money to ask for; I felt like asking for 3000 dollars was too much, but if we somehow manage to get anywhere close to it, it would be enough to help fix our car and help with other struggles and expenses.

Current situation:

Now, as to what is actually going on for me to reach out in the hope of help. Struggling with money has always been a common issue for us, with my mother unable to work because of health and sickness. However, things are now much worse than before. Bills and food prices are higher than ever and other outcomes and expenses have come along. For example, I've recently been diagnosed with severe anxiety, depression, ADHD and asthma; on top of that, I've been diagnosed with a heart disease since I was 15, and I now need multiple medicines that I take every day. Of course, this also makes it much harder for me to work, especially right now, as I am still trying to improve my health.

On top of this, in Norway, we have this thing called Eu Control, which is when you once every third year deliver your car to a verified car workshop to check your vehicle and ensure everything is okay. Without doing this, you are not legally allowed to drive your vehicle. The check-up alone costs about 100 dollars or more, but of course, they found a lot of issues with our car.
Now I'm not entirely sure how to word this in English, as I'm not originally an English speaker, but huge parts of our car were rusted, and multiple components need to be removed and replaced, which adds up to expenses of at least 1600 dollars, or in the worst case, even more. Obviously, money that we don't have.

We've tried getting a loan with multiple banks in Norway, but not a single one has been willing to help us. In some sense, I'm not surprised, as we already are 1000 dollars in debt, but this is money we needed for food and travel expenses (I work at a music studio in Bergen, with no current income, and this is hours away from where I live).
I plan on getting a paying job by the start of next year, but as of right now, we have no money to even live. We can barely pay the bills while still keeping food on the table; how are we supposed to get our car fixed?

UPDATE:

As of November 18th, we have received funding from the government to help pay for repairing the damages to our car. We are extremely grateful to everyone who donated during our tough patch, and every dollar helped keep food on the table while using the little money we had to pay the bills and get medicine. Our problems are still far from fixed, but we're on the right track and doing much better, as we'll have our car back soon. No donations are needed, but I won't delete this page so everybody can read the update. If any donations are received from this point on, they will go toward promotions and campaigns for my music. Thank you all.
