Hi my name is Irene, I am fundraising for my brother's Medical expense.

He is the sole provider of his family of 5. He doesnt have any health coverage in the Philippines, he is working as a driver to support his family.

He experienced what we thought was elevated blood pressure only, to be cautious and prevent any heart attack, her wife brought him to the hospital for a check up, things detoriorated fast after, he was unable to breathe, his blood pressure went to 200/100, he was brought to CT to check if he is having a heart attack, at the same time he felt numb on his toes and it went up fast to his limbs, arms and face, in a matter of 2 days, he became paralyzed. Our emotions were like a roller coaster during this time, he is just 35 years old and we are loosing him so fast.

His laboratory results came out, no heart attack, Blood pressure still high, paralyzed, doctors advised Lumbar puncture to confirm GBS Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). So rare, it is curable but we have to buy a set of medicines to help stop the symptoms of his conditions. The medicine alone cost us around 1M pesos or almost 25k canadian dollars. Since he is paralyzed, he is unable to breathe on his own so he needs to be intubated and hook up to machines, his daily stay in the ICU is around 1500 Cad, and he will stay there for about 15days for treatment.

We also need to buy a lot of additional medicines, aides, support his 3 children while this is happening. And after he is able to recover, doctors advised that he might be in this paralyze state up to 6 months.

We are incurring so much debt here already and have no where else to ask for more funds. If we cannot provide him atleast 1500 canadian dollars everyday, his treatment would not go through, so I humbly ask for assistance to whoever can give any amount to help our family deal with this crisis. His Children are still so young to loose their father.
