Need Help with Son's Burial Expenses

Donation protected
Greetings Friends, Family, Prayer Warriors and shared community!

On Tuesday evening, April 19, I received a call from Denver Health Hospital in Denver Colorado. They said that my son, Michael, was in very bad shape and they did not expect him to live through the day. I didn’t want to believe what I heard.

This call sounded so familiar. It sounded just like the call I received in August of 2020. Some of you may remember that my son had a massive stroke, he was on a ventilator, with a feeding tube and we were told that he may not recover to a normal life, ever. At that time, Michael could not talk, eat, or walk. Family members and friends rallied around us with prayers and financial support. But God worked a miracle! Mike left that hospital, walking and talking. We brought him home from Colorado to California so that he could rehabilitate. I am forever grateful for all the financial help we received from people on GoFundMe.

The next year was very difficult, with lots of doctors’ appointments and medications. However, my Son, Mike was determined to strive for ultimate health for his body, even with a paralyzed left side. Despite the warnings from doctors that his heart was damaged, I guess we all ignored the prediction that he would not live a long life. Every day he ate the healthiest foods and worked out at the local park. He maintained this routine until he felt he was at a place where he could take care of himself. I remember teaching him to how to tie his shoes the day he departed. He returned to Denver, Colorado to enter a men’s Christian program, maintain his own apartment and secure a job.
No one was ready for last Tuesday evening when Mike’s heart would give out to an arterial dissection. With such late notice, there was no time to catch a flight, so I sat watching my son on Zoom until he took his last breath and passed away in peace. There was a huge difference between the man that came home with us to California and the man who returned back to Denver, Colorado. I was so grateful to the chaplain who thought of letting me visit via Zoom.

So, here we are again asking for your help with airline tickets, to bring our son back, and pay for unexpected funeral expenses. It is very humbling to thing to post a GoFundMe. It is because I am usually the one doing the giving. My husband and I are both retired and on a limited income and we are raising his daughter. I pray that every hand that gives will be blessed 100-fold. This is the final lap we will take with our son.

Sincerely,
Diane
