URGENT : Need Help with Paying Rent

Update 2: The rent DID come out of my account and the landlord was paid, so now I just need to get back to zero to not get late fee'd to hell and back! Thanks guys!

URGENT UPDATE 8/29/2025 : Hello again, friends! I am reaching out as I have an unexpected emergency. I gave the landlord's son, the new landlord, a check and he told me he would let me know when he deposited it. It appears he did, but neglected to tell me and put my account in the negative and his/his father's phone are disconnected. I need ot make sure he is paid.

July 25th, 2025(ish) : On Wednesday, July 16th, 2025, my landlord died in a very sudden farming accident. He was a wonderful guy and was very much a saving grace for many tenants in my area, including myself. We were going to do a lease transfer on the very day the accident happened. I am to leave Buffalo, New York, at the end of the month to continue my studies and be closer to my fiancé. Originally, if I couldn't find someone, he was going to just let me out of the lease as I have done so much work restoring the apartment from its prior heavy smoke damage.

Now, however, with his passing, I have to give his grieving wife my notice of leave as well as August's rent, and ask her if she could please uphold the verbal agreement as he wasn't the kind of guy to do written, his word was enough for him.

This is not what I financially prepared for, and as such I am struggling. I have already exhausted all other payment options including credit cards, state assistance, and our local homeless prevention program. I'm catching up on being unable to work due to surgery recovery. My next paycheck is going to be for my costs of breaking my internet contract, and my last paycheck won't be till mid-August.

Right now, anything helps. Anything extra given beyond the goal you can choose to either help me pay bills or it can go right to the landlord's wife.
