My name is Sharron Steacy and Im 75 years old. I live alone as my husband is in long-term care with Alzhiemers disease. I am surviving on a single old age security pension and do not have the money I need to give my son Michael a proper burial. Michael passed away suddenly on December 28, 2021 of a Fentanyl overdose. I will never be able to find peace with seeing my son at the funeral home in the condition he was in. Michael was a well-loved son who had a very good education and very high asperations. His father and myself offered almost 20 years of support until Larrys health declined to being unable. Michael had countless mental health resources offered to him including a room at CAMH in Toronto. Ultimately, my son lost his battle at the age of 41. I am hoping to be able to save enough to give Michael a final resting spot at the Gananoque cemetery, with a headstone for our family.
