Help With Medical Bills for Bone Cancer

We are Jeff and Claudia Santee, Mackenzie’s parents, and we’re trying to help raise money to cover medical expenses. Mackenzie had just turned 21 and was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right leg. The treatment that hospitals want to do involve high dose chemo using three different drugs, then surgery to remove a section of her femur and possible knee replacement, then more chemo after surgery. Based on clinical studies, there is only a 58% success rate and we can expect permanent heart and hearing damage.

We have been treating her with some alternative treatments including low dose targeted chemo and immunotherapy, however since doctors in the states have to follow their standard protocol, we decided to go outside the country in order to receive alternative treatments . All of this expense is out-of-pocket.

Mackenize is an amazing young lady who is studying to be a speech language pathologist. She is very smart, funny, has a big heart and is a joy to be around.

We would appreciate any financial help you can give as well as your prayers.

This whole process and the months at the clinic is taking longer than we had anticipated The treatments have been effective and there is a possibility of surgery that could save her leg. Unfortunately, this too is all out of pocket.
