a 42 yo gay male living in SF, CA. Last two years have been a struggle and have tried my hardest to get back on my feet but keep failing to do so. After a tumor was removed from my neck in end of 2021, and a terrible post op journey that both affected my mental & physical health i returned to work & an an attempt to normalcy in September of 2022 to then lose my mother in March of 2023. Hit after hit I’ve tried to stand back up but my mental health suffered to a point of crisis and have been without work since May of 2023. My disability has run out many have helped me stay afloat, and since October have tried to return to work and now find myself at the end of 2023 with no prospects and will enter the new year 2 months behind in rent. I wanted to avoid using this method, as I’m tired of asking for help and feeling like a burden, but now I’m facing possible eviction in the new year and feel Im deserving of a chance to get back on my feet. Hopefully this will be a temporary situation. If you have the means I’m hoping this will help stabilize until a job offer presents itself.
