Good morning everyone! A GoFundMe account is something that I never want to have to make but I need help! My mom in California is very sick and has been hospitalized for the last few days. She has had three Strokes resulting in vascular dementia. Her house has been deemed unlivable and unsanitary and the conditions apparently are deplorable. She has a dog thats in the house that has been getting food and watered but It is imperative that I get to California as soon as possible to be able to get the situation taken care of. She is not of sound mind to be able to take care of herself right now but she seems to think that she doesn't have an issue. It is imperative that I get her to sign a power of attorney immediately before the dementia progresses any further than it has. It has been an extreme fight the last few days and Social Services has requested that I come out to California immediately to try to get this situation handled. I do not have any savings or funds available to help me do this. A last minute plane ticket is about $800 and it is a $495 filing fee just to turn the POA into the court system if she chooses not to sign willingly. I will need to be able to make her medical and financial decisions as this disease progresses . I will need a rental car when I get out there and possibly a place to stay for a few days. This is truly an emergency situation and I need help! I'm losing my mind being stuck here and having my hands tied . It's my mom and she doesn't have anybody else to help her. The situation she is in at home is not a good one either and I'm the only one that can fix it. Anything you can donate is greatly appreciated. Even $5 here and there is one step closer to me getting there. I need to go out there as soon as possible so anybody's help would be more than appreciated. Time is clearly of the essence on this one.
