Need help to care for Koko and Mya, and myself
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jules. I am currently living in a small town in the UK.
Before the pandemic, I had a successful Chocolate business. I began seeing a decline in business and had to take on a business partner to help with strategy and advice.
To take some of the financial strain off of me, my new partner bought all of my equipment in the promise that I would relocate and work for him in a new location.
I moved with my 2 German Shepard’s, Mya and Koko, and rented a small place in a poor town, as this was the only place I could afford that would allow me to keep my dogs.
About one month later the Pandemic hit and my business partner changed his mind about helping me.
I found myself alone, in a new town, with no support system. I had to apply for benefits, which barely cover the cost of rent and utilities.
I had been relying on my relatives to help cover the shortages each month just to get by and be able to feed myself and my 2 dogs.
I have often thought I would have to give my dogs away, as each month I struggle to make ends meet. But, my girls, Mya and Koko, have been my life support through these unprecedented years.
I realized I could not keep relying on my family to help and took a part time job in a Supermarket near my home to supplement the benefit money I receive.
Although the social aspect of this job has been a lifesaver after years of isolation due to the Pandemic, financially, I am still left wondering how to pay my bills and feed my fur family.
Here in the UK workers get paid once a month. The benefit system is such that if you have a job your monetary benefits decrease and the schedule is arranged in a way that this month, I receive nothing.
I am not accustomed to asking others for help. In my previous years, working as a chef in the restaurant and travel business, I was the one who always gave to those in need.
Now I find myself in such dire straits that I am looking to the kindness of strangers and friends to help me care for myself and my 2 Shepards. I would be lost without them.
I am not asking for much. Any amount will make a huge difference in our lives.
Thank you so much for reading my story and for any help you may give.
