I am Dawn Hopson and I am making this plea for my sister Jennifer, to help her rebuild her home that was destroyed by the heavy monsoon earlier this month in Pune, India.
This past spring, I was seriously ill and flew my sister from India to assist my husband with my care.
During her stay here in Houston, Texas, her home in Pune, India was destroyed by the monsoon rains. On June 29th Pune experienced rain like it has not seen in half a century.
A 40 year old tree outside her front door fell on her roof and broke through the walls of her home. When we received the pictures of her home we were all shocked to know that she has no home to go back to (see enclosed photos and newspaper cuttings).
This has been her home for the last 40 years! She does not have any relatives to live with, nor resources to go back to.
I believe there are some good hearted people left in this world who reach out to others in distress, so here am I asking you to to generously open your hearts and donate to her cause. We deeply appreciate any amount that you can donate with a cheerful heart.
The goal is $2,500 dollars. My husband and I are retired and cannot help her as we would like to. What little we have, we are donating to her cause. She is in her 70's just like us and has no resources to survive without our help.
Donations will be spent on material cost and labor to fix her home.
