Hi my name is Page, my husband is Paul and our two dogs are 6 year old siberian husky brothers. I am reaching out for any little bit of help- we recently experienced the most difficult form of natural disaster. On thursday Decmeber 22nd a tree fell through our roof and completely crushed the ceiling. We now have a giant tree in our home, as well as the house is now flooding, and we are loosing all of our personal belongings and furniture. We have been staying in hotels and airbnb's, but running into a lot of issues with airbnb hosts. This christmas morning we had an airbnb lined up to stay in for a week and when we showed up they said that our dogs exceed their weight restrictions. I communicated with the host very thoroughly about our dogs, this placed us with nowhere to go and a car filled to the brim-dogs included. We went back to our home to unload some things with no idea where to go from there. We called our neighbor next door whose tree it was that fell on our house. He at first had no idea and was out of town- our landlord did not get in contact with the neighbor and we jumped through crazy hoops just to find his contact info. We begged him if we could stay at his house since he is out of town for a couple of weeks and he said yes no problem. So then we think okay we have a roof over our heads for at least christmas. He then called us about 45 minutes later and told us that he spoke to his insurance and that it is a liability for him to let us stay there. We were then left with no place to go for the second time on christmas day. We have all of this food that we had purchased to host our family- which is all going bad now, due to the power being shut off in our house. The fire department came out and said that it was a hazard to start a fire form electrical wiring that is exposed due to the tree. We desperately need assistance for short term housing, as we have found a permanent place to move in 2 weeks. This is the most difficult thing my husband and I have ever experienced and I have been a hospital worker all throughout covid. Please if anyone has even $20 to spare, anything would help us out so very much!
