With deep concern and sadness, we are all aware of the tragic events that have unfolded in Artsakh, where the Armenian population has suffered greatly due to actions taken by Azerbaijan. This heart-wrenching situation has resulted in the displacement of numerous Armenian families, and one individual who holds a special place in my heart is in urgent need of our assistance.

I am reaching out to you with an urgent plea for support to save the life of an exceptional hero, Erik Sargsyan, a former Artsakh soldier who epitomizes selflessness and bravery. Amidst the chaos of conflict, this young man demonstrated unwavering integrity by going above and beyond to assist fellow travelers. He selflessly drove my friends and me to the airport to retrieve my luggage, which had arrived a day late, patiently waiting for us in the car from 11:00 PM to 2:30 AM, all while charging a nominal fee of $4,000 drams for the round trip.

Now, Erik faces medical crisis with five bullet fragments inside his body, and he requires surgery. Despite his own desperate need for assistance for himself, his wife and three young children, he has been in contact with me, sharing videos of the dire circumstances faced by native Armenians and doing everything within his power to aid families crossing the border into Armenia and providing them with shelter.

Let us unite as a community, as compassionate individuals, to repay his kindness and ensure he receives the vital medical care he so urgently requires during this incredibly challenging period.
