3/19/25 Update

I had my 3rd surgery in 10 months a week ago after locating the osteomyelitis which is the bone infection. The plan was to scrape all the infected bone out, rinse and stitch it up. The culture had came back and I was called back into doctors 2 days after surgery to tell me we need to rip out some of rhe stitches and have you start packing the wound again with meosalt (spelling?) Because the found 2 different bacteria still inside. As well as my bone is still not healed. What the doctor said is its like grissle connecting the two pieces of my fibula together. Ripping stitches out and packing the wound 2 days after surgery was agonizing. I have now been referred back to the Wound care center, where I'm told I' m back at step one. If you only knew how disheartening that was to hear.

I have had no income for over 10 months and can't continue on like this. I can't pay bills, can't afford to even buy myself the things nessacary for everyday life. I never thought when I broke my ankle in May of last year that it would be this long and still dealing with issues. The doctors told me that what is happening to me is extremely rare and I was a uniqe case. Unbelievable.

I have tried everything I could to get but no help anywherebut $18 in food stamps a month. I have filed for disability but that I'm told is a very long process. It will also be quite sometime before I will no if the osteomyelitis is gone either. My emotional and mental state of mind is about as low as you an get. Most people don't even realize that I'm actually worse off now medically than I have been in 10 months. The doctors words were you have still a long road ahead of you.

Im Just hoping to find some help through here. I am in desperate need. I can't work. If I could I would gladly do so. I have barely been avle to keep a phone on which is important to be in contact with the differnt doctors and such. Im not very good at asking for help when I need it. But I truly need all the help I can get. Even if it is sharing this and asking others to help out in anyway they can. I would greatly appreciate it. I will add photos from 2 days after 3rd surgery where you can see it stit hed up and then where he ripped the 2 middle ones out to leave it open to pack.

I had an MRI done and it showed that the inflamation in the bone has spread further than before. My wound has shown no signs of closing. They scheduled a 3rd surgery on my ankle for March 10th. . They said they will attempt to remove the bad section of bone, I will then have a vaccum punp sort of machine that I will carry around with a tube going into my ankle sucking out everything for weeks. This may be the last chance in saving my leg from amputation. I can't begin to express how depressed I am. I still can't work. I can't get any help from the state. My phone shuts off in 2 days which is my life line to doctors, nurses that change my bandages. Aling with everything else. I do get food stamps. A whole $18 a month. I need help. I'm embarassed, ashamed to ask for help but I do 't know what else I can do. Thank you to everyone whichhas helped. At that point I was really hoping to be on the way to healing. Then things got worse. I had to go back in the hospital because of the infection. Please anyone that can help, I need it more than ever. I can receive instanly through cash app. which is $RyanFowble

1/20/25. UPDATE

Thank you for everyones help. I want to let everyone know that I have been diagnosed with Osteomyelitis which is a bone infection. It can have life long complications and even worse has a mortality rate of 1 in 5 people. My wound is not healing and only looking worse so they decided another surgery is nessecary. MRI isnt until Feb 12th . No sense of urgency it seems. They need to find the "nitus" focal point and try to dig it out of the bone marrow , and plastic surgery after that, if the surgery is sucessful. If not they said we need to start talking about amputation being a real possibility. My thougjts completely had drowned anything else they were saying. Thinking how could this be happening from a broken ankle. Have I just met Karma in the form of doctors. Im really losing hope. I already cant earn any money since I cant work. No state help or anyrhing. I just filed for disability, but if I even get it, it will be a year or 2 or maybe more before I get it. I dont know what else to do other than ask for help, which I absolutely hate doing. There are people who have been kind enough to help out already. I was hoping I was coming to the tail end of this nigjtmare then, but now its a whole new dynamic to this situation. And its one that I'm not gonna lie, has me scared. Whatever anyobe can help out with will be a huge help. If you cant donate, please share it and ask if anyone else could help is just as good. Same if you already donated just share if you wouldnt mind. I would never expect, someone to send more than once, So just share and ask others to help if they can. I am going to need all the help I can get for awhile. I am really sorry for asking, I just honestly don't have any other options. And I am pretty shook with the news I was given. PLEASE READ UPDATE FROM 12/6

update 12/6 - I just had the pick line removed yesterday and see the doc on the 11th. I was able to get a vehicle and now all I need is to be able to come up with $265 for a new insurance policy and pay $149 a month. Hopefully doc tells me infection is gone from my bones and can clear me for at least light duty work. Wound still hasnt closed which worries me. I still pack it every day with medical cloth to help it close, but is working very slow. Thanks to everyone who has helped me the last 7 months from this nightmare. I just need help putting $265 together so I can put this truck on the road and start working again and gain some independence back. I will be more than happy to even pay someone or someones back. I am so ready for this to be over. I have no way of coming up with $265 on my own like I am right now. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

Hi, my name is Ryan and I was in a car accident in my car which is pictured below

after hitting head on into a dump truck.

I broke my ankle in 4 places and my foot as well. Doctor said immediate surgery was needed, but the surgeon said let's try and let it heal because I was lucky enough it didn't shift. But my fibula was snapped in half. 12 weeks the main break to the Fibula was not healing. pics below of 1st xray and pic below that one is 12 weeks later and looks worse. so I had surgery Aug 12th. And Sept 11th I went back with an Infection and my wound will not close which means there is bacteria on the hardware and ut needs to be taken back out. I am now set to have surgery again Oct 11th after I take 2 rounds of antibiotics.

This has been a long nightmarish journey. I have not been able to work since May 16th and I no longer have my car as it was totaled. I have been unable to pay monthly bills, rent, buy groceries and any good credit I may have had from building it back up is now in bad standing. I desperately need help financially, my rent is a 3 months behind and I have tried everything from Salvation Army to Social Services and keep being told sorry we can't help you. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I am just looking to get by without losing everything. Whatever I can do in return for your help once I'm healthy, I would gladly do. I almost at 5 months now and still scheduled for another surgery. I wouldn't ask for help if I didn't absolutely need it.
