Hello. My name is Shana. I am reaching out because I’m 10 days from eviction and do not have a safe place to go. Three weeks ago my health rapidly declined and resulted in the loss of my job. To avoid eviction, I must pay $2000 to resolve the past due rent, utilities, eviction & all processing fees. If you could spare a few bucks, share this post, or send me a word of encouragement at this time - all will be truly appreciated.
In February 2022 I was advised the battery in my pacemaker was expiring. I didn't have insurance, so to schedule the surgery I had to pay 20% and that wiped me out financially. My doctor told me the day of my surgery I was lucky because the battery had died the day of my procedure. My life depended on the completion of this procedure so I spent my rent money to have the operation. Unfortunately, I have been running late on rent since then, try as I might, I just can't seem to get ahead. Cut to my recent job loss... 5+ years I've had severe earaches, (swollen tongue, major brain fog, fevers/chills, swollen glands, stiff neck). I've sought treatment with multiple doctors of various types with no luck. A month ago my feet/hands went numb so I spent the last of my money to go to the doctor for help. I found out it was a long-ago undiagnosed Strep infection that progressed into a serious salivary gland infection. Now my doctor suspects meningitis, but it requires a spinal tap for a formal diagnosis - and without insurance that won't happen. For the past 2-weeks, I've been on a heavy treatment of antibiotics and steroids to attempt to get rid of the infection, but still not feeling well and having trouble with dizzy spells, fatigue, and swollen glands.
I want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank the kindness of friends and strangers that have helped me make it this far. I know it’s been frustrating along the way for friends and loved ones to see me still struggling. Please know that I have been fighting harder behind the curtains than you could possibly imagine and I’m not giving up yet.
Thank you so much.
