Greetings,
The Point: I need help.
actually, me and my offspring.
And to be up front about it, my child is NOT a child, she's an adult, holds a job, helps with expenses, etc.
The Fact: We've been doing the best we can and it's proving to be not quite good enough. Freelancing doesn't cover everything, as an editor, my work has almost entirely dried up due to AI, although I do a far better job than any AI could ever do. People will figure that out eventually, but that doesn't help me now.
My daughter doesn't make enough after taxes to pay everything on her own either. Between the two of us we keep the rent paid, barely, and keep the electricity and our budget phones on.
We are on a food stamp program receiving the minimum amount possible and also have a small portion of our rent paid through another program.
While we are very grateful for these things we would much rather NOT be on any program. We want self-sufficiency. To get there...
-We need a car
-We need to move
-We can't do it alone
We aren't sitting here with iPhones, getting our nails done and spending frivolously. We also don't have credit cards because neither of us like debt. I know, weird choice in current culture, but I never wanted one and my daughter just followed suit. I've made it to middle aged without one, so far, so good and at my age, not having established credit earlier in life means I likely can't get a credit card now.
If I had family I'd reach out, having been orphaned at age 9 and raised a ward of the state, I don't. We moved to this blue state hell BEFORE people became so divided it borders on insanity. I'm never going to use my childhood as a crutch or excuse, I'm too old for that.
We're just trying to figure out how to survive as American citizens in an America that doesn't want us, that's no easy task anymore.
And to all of you who I can practically hear telling me to just "get a job," BELIEVE me, I've have, I WANT to work, lazy isn't in my repertoire. The issue is, it's harder to find a job when you're a really hard worker, always show up and are extremely dependable, that isn't what employers in blue states look for.
I'm old school, before "full time" meant a 30 hour work week. In my day, full time was 40 hours a week, at least. But hard work, dedication and taking pride in your work aren't what matter anymore.
These days, particularly in blue states, you get fired if you don't share your political perspective and filter everything you do and say through it. And if you do, they better match up with the blue state, leftist agenda. That's just not me.
When I was coming up there were 3 things you NEVER talked about in polite company, politricks, sex and religion. Now we're in a world where if you don't pick one of those things and make it your ENTIRE identity, you're not allowed the same opportunities people who wear it all on their leftist sleeve get.
I'm just saying the quiet part out loud and I'm not exaggerating. I was assaulted in this town for wearing red shoes, not kidding, these people are insufferable.
Couple all that with the fact that the job market is already horrifyingly bad and it's the perfect storm for someone like me, respectable, hard working and sane, to not be able to find work.
We do what we can in our community, I work in an old lady's garden in exchange for garden vegetables, my daughter house-sits and we both clean when we can find work doing it, alas, we aren't undocumented Mexicans so there isn't much out there for us.
Again, it isn't that we aren't willing to work.
But that's enough of that. One more thing I want to address, another example of how the more degenerate, unhinged and even violent people are, the more help there is out there for them...
When I see a mentally unhinged, grungy paid protester calling for the death of America and it's citizens raise over $150,000 because he got arrested one time, or a young black man raise millions for murdering a white kid, I KNOW there's help out there.
In current culture, the more degenerate you are the more successful you can be.
But I'm not a degenerate, just a person trying to get to a better place where we can thrive rather than just barely survive.
We actually WANT to work, we take pride in that. We want to be productive members of society in a country we love and are grateful to be natural born citizens of. We just can't get there from where we are without help.
In the meantime, a car would go a long way in improving our lives, not only to eventually move, but in the immediate future, to find work, I could make deliveries for Doordash or Uber if I had a reliable vehicle.
GOAL #1
I refuse to fake a disability, loot stores, steal from anyone or try and claim reparations for things that never even happened to me. I'm also not going to identify as anything other than what I am, a real American struggling in America.
I know, "we're all struggling," and I know that American struggle is very different than struggle in other places, but I'm not in those places. And if you own a car and don't have to steal napkins from the 7-11 when you run out of toilet paper too soon before that next check comes in, you're doing far better than we are.
PLEASE feel free to email me if you'd like to know more regarding what we're all about before you donate. I can fill you in on the jobs I have been able to get, what happened, even how one employer still owes me around $10,000 I'll never see, if you're interested.
Or, just donate, we're a good cause, something you can feel good about regardless of your political affiliations, WE don't judge .
If you want updates, I'm happy to accommodate.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your kind consideration.
Everything helps, from groceries, to rent, to hopefully a vehicle so we can move on.
We also appreciate the little things, even just a kind word.
Thanks,
Hanna
