Ned Opdyke Memorial Fundraiser

Tax deductible
Monday, May 22 will mark one year since my dad lost his 11 week battle with kidney cancer at age 59. On that day, the 365th since he passed into the next world, I plan to completely shave my head and give 14" of hair to Children with Hair Loss, a non-profit organization that provides wigs, free of charge, to kids experiencing temporary hair loss due to cancer treatment or other medical reasons.

Today, I ask you to join me in making a donation of your own to remember and honor Ned by contributing to the preservation of his favorite place back on earth: Yosemite National Park. If we reach my goal of $2,700, his name will be displayed for one year on the Honor Wall in the Yosemite Visitor Center and I will go there to welcome that small representation of him back home. Should we happen to fund a $10,000 goal, his name will be permanently displayed on the Honor Wall. Click here to read more about how your generous gift will support Yosemite.

Additionally, your donation will demonstrate solidarity with the National Park Service. Despite a park system record attendance of 325 million visits in 2016, the President's proposed FY18 budget contains deep reductions that will negatively impact the national parks for us and for generations to come. Thank you for your contribution--on behalf of Ned, me, and Yosemite National Park.

(Note: GoFundMe will send your tax-deductible donation directly to the Yosemite Conservancy. Once your donation is processed, you will receive a tax deduction receipt from PayPal Giving Fund.)
