Imagine losing your spouse to lung cancer and then finding out you have an advanced case less than 90 days later.

That's happening right now to my dad, Tony. Let me tell you a bit about him and why I'm so desperate to get him the help he needs.

He and my mom Teressa fought for years to conceive a child of their own with no success. Amid that heartbreak, they decided to consider adoption. After years of trying to adopt an infant, they met my sister Kristen and I in the mid-1990's. Even though they ached for a baby of their own, they followed the path God put in front of them and adopted us both. It's rare for sibling groups to be adopted, even more so when the siblings are middle-school aged. My parents did it, though, and gave us a home full of love and support.

They got to watch Kristen marry Johnny and me marry Sarah. They enjoyed time with their grandchildren (all eight of them!) They had dreams for the future, to dance at the grandkids' weddings and finally retire to Florida. Unfortunately, those dreams were shattered when we lost Mom to lung cancer just a few short months ago, on June 20th 2022. We were all devastated, none more than my Dad. She was the love of his life, and now he faced a future without her. Before he or any of us could come to terms with her death, we're now faced with Tony's own advanced cancer diagnosis.

None of us are ready for him to go. We all want to fight with him. I'd take it myself if I could, and I'm torn apart by the turn of events. He's ready to fight but has the additional burden of the financial toll that cancer treatment takes.

We dug deep to help them during my mother's losing battle and haven't yet recovered. We're giving all we can to help him, but we need your help.
