Help Build a Community Radio Tower for Northeastern Colorado
Hello everyone,
My name is Mark (WSAD847), and I run the Northeastern Colorado GMRS Group, an amateur radio organization dedicated to education and community communications. Our group focuses on GMRS radio operations and introductory amateur (HAM) radio education for all ages — from students to families and local farmers.
We are asking for your help to raise funds for a community radio tower that will be open for public use. This project will include:
A high-power GMRS repeater and HAM repeater for emergency and community communications
A LoRa Meshtastic Relay System for long-range data and text connectivity
Additional public education and outreach equipment to help teach radio communication in schools, clubs, and community programs
The tower will be placed on private property but remain publicly accessible, providing a reliable communication hub across a wide area of Northeastern Colorado — a region known for frequent cell service outages and limited network coverage.
This project is not just about radios — it’s about building resilience and connection.
It will:
Support emergency communication during outages or disasters
Provide hands-on learning opportunities for students and clubs
Assist farmers and rural families with dependable local communications
Strengthen community preparedness and public education
Every dollar brings us closer to creating a lasting community asset that benefits everyone.
Thank you for supporting local radio, education, and communication for Northeastern Colorado.
