Oxford Said Business School Earthquake Fundraiser
Donation protected
There have been two devastating earthquakes in Turkey/Syria (7.8 and 7.6 in magnitude) - collapsing an area roughly as big as the UK, impacting over 17 million lives. Some international news sources report that the impact was stronger than 32 nuclear bombs dropped on Hiroshima.
Murat and I are kicking off a fundraising campaign for humanitarian aid in SBS. All donations will go to:
- AHBAP - one of the most credible, non-politicized NGOs in Turkiye. They actively work in the hit zones across the full spectrum of humanitarian aid (e.g., rescue teams to caring for the homeless to reconstruction).
- White Helmets - a volunteer organisation responding to the earthquake in Syria. They are on the ground providing resources, shelter, and care for injured people who have lost their homes.
Your donations can make a difference:
- £40 could help provide a winter coat to 5 people affected by the earthquake
- £81 could help provide one month of cash assistance to a family of four to help them buy what they need the most
- £242 could help provide emergency items, including winter jackets and clothing to a family
No donation is small donation - Survivors need all support we can give. We trust that our institution can touch a lot of lives in need of help.
With love,
Sila and Murat
