17 dachshunds SAVED from "breeder"
Tax deductible
On Sunday, July 31st, Nebraska Dachshund Rescue took in SEVENTEEN DACHSHUNDS from a "backyard breeder" that was going out of business in Kansas. When the call came in, there was no hesitation in saying "YES!". We needed to save them from the breeder's other options - puppy mill auction, craigslist, shelter. This is why we do what we do! TEN adults and 7, yes SEVEN, puppies went to loving foster homes. (All puppies are under 5 weeks and have several weeks until weened from their mothers.) We need your help! NDR is a 100% donation-based organization. We couldn't keep rescuing without monetary support from our dachshund-loving friends!
Each dog will need to be vetted (average of $250) - routine vaccinations, spayed or neutered, dentals (some of them have a mouthful of teeth that are so rotten that they are literally falling out), heartworm tests, heartworm pills, flea medication, etc ... before they will be adopted out! Our vet bill will be over $5,000 for this group of dogs. We are asking YOU - our generous, courageous, difference-making supporter, to open your heart and consider a donation! EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. goes to the dogs!
We, along with your help, can give a helpless, voiceless creature a second chance at life. They deserve it. They cherish it. It's so rewarding!
"Thank You" is never going to express the gratitude that each and every one of our volunteers, foster, supporters, followers, DACHSHUNDS feels, but, truly, NDR is forever grateful.
Live your life with your heart wide open! ♥
Nebraska Dachshund Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit all volunteer organization dedicated to saving dachshunds. Hearing of dachshunds in kill-shelters, being surrendered by families, retiring from puppy mills, etc...who deserved a second chance at life...the rescue was formed. NDR is dedicated to helping abandoned, surrendered, abused and neglected dachshunds. A safe, loving foster home is provided to each dachshund who comes to our rescue, we do not have a facility. NDR is dedicated to educating owners on responsible pet ownership. And last, but not least, the goal is to find loving forever homes for all dachshunds in need. NDR has saved over ONE THOUSAND dachshunds since it was formed in the fall of 2007 by dachshund lovers.
Note: Our adoption process requires an application to be filled out - we check references, do home visits and make sure the home is a right fit. Unfortunately due to the nature of the organization being all volunteer, only local adoptions will take place. All seven puppies are NOT ready to be adopted yet ... we will NOT be accepting applications on them until they are ready for adoption. Stay tuned to our Facebook and Petfinder page to see when they are available.
