Who this will help
Hello, my name is Pharis and I have started this fundraiser to help the Lunceford family during this most difficult time. At 56 years young, Neal Lunceford is a husband to Kelley, a father to three adult children (Justin, Heather and Austin) and Tucker a minor child with Downs Syndrome. Neal also has three beautiful grandchildren who call him PaPa.

Neal works as a Teacher Assistant at East Lincoln High School in the Special Needs classroom and also drives a school bus.

Additionally, Neal has been an active member of the coaching staff for both football and baseball teams at ELHS for many years.

In addition to his work at the high school, Neal also works part time at Lowe’s in Denver. Neal is known and loved by so many in the community.

Why I'm fundraising
On Monday, December 4, 2023, Neal became sick with fever, cough and congestion. By Thursday, December 7, after days at home trying to treat symptoms, Neal was admitted to Atrium Hospital Lincolnton with the flu and slight pneumonia. By Friday evening, he was struggling to breathe and had a fever of 104. He was sent to ICU and placed on a ventilator under heavy sedation. On Saturday, December 9, the doctors treating him in Lincolnton determined he needed to be transferred via life support team to Atrium Pineville. Once in Pineville, Neal continued to receive the best care possible but his body and health continued to decline to being on life support and experiencing organ failure. On December 16, after a week in ICU Pineville, the doctor told us there was nothing more they could do for him there as he is now in kidney failure and suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome with continued high fever. The decision was made to transfer Neal via life support team to CMC Main Charlotte. As of today, December 19, Neal remains in ICU on advanced life support in critical and unstable condition. His outcome is unknown but what we do know is he is fighting so hard to survive and our God has him wrapped in His arms.

The impact of your support
We pray for healing…for a miracle. As you can imagine, the medical expenses are going to be astronomical, not to mention lost income as he does not have short or long-term insurance. Given Neal is the primary provider for his family and also the caregiver for his mother, we are asking for you to consider donating any amount you can to help offset the enormous medical expenses that will soon flood in. Your donation will also help relieve expenses traveling to/from hospital, and Neal’s lost wages from his jobs.

Please share Neal’s story…this fundraiser to your friends and family.

We also seek and covet all your prayers!

Thank you and God bless.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
