UPDATE March 10, 2025 (way behind financially, and not well physically).
Thank-you to all of you who have previously reached out and responded via Venmo or GoFundMe over this obnoxiously long period of recovery.
I've had a barrage of testing already this year. We've tested for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (of the Parkinsons family), Epilepsy, and Peripheral Neuropathy. I've had EEG's, an EMG and a 3 hour cognitive awareness test. The first 2 are dismissed so far as I know. The latter (cognitive awareness testing) may provide some insight as to the source of my issues - I hope to have more knowledge and something in the way if results by and of March.
I continue to struggle with these seeming neurological issues.
They adversely my balance, walking, speech and cognitive awareness. I do not walk well, think well or speak well all the time ... this is very concerning.
I've been unable to work for several months now. I HAVE EFFECTIVELY RUN OUT OF MONEY. Social security covers a good chunk of my expenses, but only about 1/2. So this means I continue to fall further and further behind each month.
In the meantime I have pretty much hit the wall financially and anticipate I will need about $10K to get me through to good earning power by the summer. We are in the “horrific electric bill” season where our electric bill can approach $1,000 per month. And now there are regular shut off notices. I have 2+ years left in car payments and at $349/month they are getting harder and harder to make. Not to mention insurance and repairs which add up. Add to that the Vet bills (average $400+ per month) and regular everyday expenses.
So here I am once again asking if anyone can help in any way. I know many of you have over the last year and a half. My gratitude remains.
Oh and for those who may be wondering, or assuming … Michael has taken on well beyond his share the entire time of my recovery. No word of a lie there.
Thank-you for considering. I also have Venmo if people would rather use that please drop me a message and I’ll send you my ID.
These updates and my constant begging are not easy to write, as one may imagine.
Thanks for all your help thus far, and hugs,
Neal
