Recently Nebraska was hit with a terrible storm. The west half of the state was buried in snow with a blizzard, the eastern half is flooded with over 20 towns and counting evacuated. We got hit with a bomb cyclone complete with hurricane-strength wind and dangerous storm conditions. During this my family lost their home to a massive flood in Bellevue. Paradise Lakes where they live was right in the path coving their entire house in 12ft of water/sewage. Because their home was "protected" by a damn and 2 levees FEMA said they weren't on a flood plain and denied flood insurance. However, the damn broke and both levee's failed. My parents lost all of their belongings and have no coverage for flood damage. They had less than 2 hours to evacuate, they got to safety with only a few days supplies. Any little bit will help, It will be weeks if not months before we will even be able to go back to the area and even see if anything is salvageable. at this point even a share to get the word out would be greatly appreciated.
