The goal of this gofundme is to help cover living and medical expenses, and transportation costs for Kevin.

On November 14, 2023 Kevin was shot in the chest during a robbery at the 7-Eleven store where he worked. Fortunately, the bullet was deflected by the sternum and passed through the right lung and liver, exiting out the back. Although there were a couple of complications which led to extended hospital stays, much progress has been made.

However, during his hospital stay doctors noticed a large mass on the left kidney. A biopsy was performed and it confirmed the mass is cancer and spreading. Further examination revealed that there is a small nodule in the right lung which may also be cancer, though a biopsy has not been performed to confirm this. To great relief, an MRI of the brain shows no tumors present at this time.

As we understand the situation, the plan is to surgically remove the left kidney which will require a hospital stay of 2-3 days followed by 2-3 weeks of recovery. If the nodule in the right lung is cancerous it will be treated with chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.
