Trevor and Zoe Lang Fundraiser
Donation protected
To the family and friends of Trevor and Zoe Lang,
As some of you may know, Trevor was seriously injured at his job at a remote diamond mine in the Northwest Territories on January 26th.
Trevor waited many hours for air transport and was eventually transferred to University Hospital of Alberta in Edmonton, the nearest hospital with the ability to perform the first extensive surgery required. While unfortunately not located near home this is where one of the top-rated hand/wrist surgeons is located who has taken on the role of leading further required surgeries.
While Trevor, Zoe and their family are eternally grateful his injuries were not life threatening, they were life changing.
In a subsequent surgery, Trevor required a partial amputation and still requires an extensive and complicated surgery to repair and rebuild the remaining structures of his hand. This requires a lengthy admission to hospital.
Zoe has been in Edmonton with Trevor since his first surgery, but plans to travel back and forth so she can also see their kids while Trevor is recovering in hospital.
While he is receiving excellent care in Edmonton, we all know Edmonton is a long way from Powell River and his children Nolan, Owen, and Brynlee are counting down the days until they can all be together.
This big life change comes with a lot of adjustments, sacrifices, travel, rehab, and recovery. He will likely be required to travel frequently for his rehabilitation.
The 2022 year was a difficult one for Trevor and Zoe, as, like many families in Powell River, Trevor was displaced from his job at the mill. Trevor and Zoe were just getting used to life in camp and now must adjust again.
Trevor and Zoe have never asked for anything, but I'm asking friends and family to please consider donating to this fundraiser to allow them the time they need to recover as a family when Trevor comes home ❤
