God is greater than my highs and lows
This is what Aaron's necklace reads, and this is his current motto.
Aaron Whitney and his family have been on quite the roller coaster these past few weeks - and not the fun kind!
Awkward header at soccer practice...
Unusual and worsening headaches...
Multiple visits to ER, Urgent Care, and Chiropractor...
Prescribed over-the-counter pain meds and rest...
Finally a CT scan...
Swelling on the brain and possible brain bleed...
Brain Tumor...not related at all to the soccer header!
Transfer by ambulance (unfortunately NOT by helicopter, as Aaron hoped!) to UCSF...
MRI...
NOT A TUMOR!!!!!!!...
Abscess...
Surgery to vacuum out infection (Introduction of Titanium Skull)...
Testing infected pus to see which antibiotics work best...
Setbacks with regards to pain and probable secondary meningitis infection...
More tests, currently planning an MRI Tuesday to see how well antibiotics are working.
While this has been exhausting mentally, emotionally, and physically for Aaron, Brent, and Jennifer and all who love them, they see God's Hand orchestrating many things/situations/people who "just so happened" to be right where they needed them and to have just the right connections so that Aaron is being treated by the best doctors in the WORLD for this! They are resting in God's Sovereignty, knowing He has a good plan in all this (and sincerely hope He lets them get a glimpse of what that is!). Aaron's faith and trust in God ruling over the unknown has been evident to all, and he has relished opportunities to share his faith with those around him (why hello Mr. Paramedic, stuck in the back of an ambulance with me for several hours!) and with those who love him back home (including a prayer bonfire with Gospel presentation in Porterville!).
Aaron, Brent, and Jennifer have been away from their home since Wednesday January 25th. Many have asked how they can help with medical expenses as well as travel, food, parking and toll roads, and potential loss of income expenses, and Brent and Jennifer have reluctantly agreed to have this set up in order to streamline the process. If you prefer, funds can be sent to them directly via Venmo (@Jennifer-Whitney) or Zelle. More than anything, they covet your prayers and love, for complete healing and for God's name to be magnified!
'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus
Just to take Him at His Word
Just to rest upon His promise
Just to say, "Thus saith the Lord!"
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I've proved Him, o'er and o'er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus,
Oh for grace to trust Him more.
