Ndeye and Babou Jobe Scholarship
Donation protected
The Ndeye and Babou Jobe Scholarship memoralizes the extraordinary lives of the couple and will benefit the K-12 education of an underpriveleged boy or girl in The Gambia. Co-presidents of the scholarship fund, Binta and Ousman Jobe, daughter and son of Ndeye and Babou, recognize the importance that education was to their parents. As an example, Babou came from humble means, was the first to go to college in his family, and was so dedicated to his studies that he made it all the way across the globe for a masters in business at Stanford. His education paved the way for him to succeed as a civil servant, serving his country as an ambassador abroad and as a local magistrate. To carry on Babou and Ndeye's legacy, Ousman and Binta want to make an impact in the life, or lives, of a young Gambian child.
Binta Jobe, daughter of Ndeye and Babou Jobe, is the Country Manager in The Gambia at Forderverein Humanitas, a Swiss non-profit. Binta graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore and has served in many positions, including as a diplomat at The Gambia Embassy in London, England.
Ousman Jobe, son of Ndeye and Babou Jobe, works at technology giant LinkedIn as a Strategic Partnerships Manager based in the company's New York City office. Ousman attended the American School of Paris for high school. He then received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. He is married to Kathleen Lungren Jobe and they have three young children: Kayden Baboucarr (4), Zane Daniel (2) and Karina Ndeye (2 months). Ousman and his family reside in the Washington, D.C. area.
