Limerick Dementia Social Club, Our Lady of Lourdes Community Centre, Childers Rd. Rosbrien, Limerick.
I am Frank's son, Fergus, and on behalf of my my siblings Frank, Helen and Aoife, I would like to extend our sincerest and warmest thanks for the support offered by Limerick Dementia Social Club to myself and Dad.
The Limerick Dementia Social Club meant a great deal to both Dad and myself. It gave us something to look forward to each month, meet others, and enjoy the craic. Whether it was music, singing, chats over tea, information talks, crafting, the club created treasured moments and happiness at a time when life had become more complicated. It was not about illness or appointments, it was about people, friendship, and feeling welcome.
For us, this was much more than a club, it was community. From our very first club evening, we were welcomed with warmth and respect. The choir nights in particular were a favourite, and dad would "conduct" the music he really enjoyed. While he always said he couldn't sing, you'd still see him singing along when he thought you couldn't hear him.
