On October 27th while on a road trip back home from Georgia to Pennsylvania a terrible storm caused by an impending hurricane stole control of my vehicle, leading to uncontrollable hydroplaning off the road, rolling down a hill, and a collision with three trees at the bottom. No bodily damage occurred beyond a few scratches and many personal valuables were salvaged, but the car was completely trashed. Having this happen so far from home was horrifying, but luckily we’ve managed to figure out how to get home and settle from there. Still, not having a vehicle now is a huge boon to my everyday life. As a Behavioral Technician for kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder, my job necessitates travel between various counties in the state of Pennsylvania to see and support each of my clients, and currently I’m unable to do that comfortably. My girlfriend may be able to occasionally help as needed, but with her own responsibilities as a grave shift Respiratory Therapist, her car isn’t something I can rely on forever and a more long-term solution is necessary. I’m still waiting on my insurance claim to assess what I can even get back, but in the meantime I’ll be rounding up personal savings where I can to fund a car. My dream would be to finance something slightly nicer to serve as a long-term vehicle as I plan on having a family in the near future, but even being able to afford an older beater car would be a huge blessing. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, even just a share would mean the world to me.
