Hi Everyone, Many of you I know the news is now spreading quickly that my step-sister and fellow comedienne Cindy Burns has stage 4 colon cancer. For the past year Cindy’s been battling on her own, and although we’ve kept the news of her health fairly quiet, we’ve decided to go public. This seemed like the best place in order to share updates and also for those of you that have asked how you can help and how to donate.
Your support, and often quiet understanding, as family or friend, is appreciated and recognized. The phone calls, text messages, cards, emails, smiles, hugs, playing music for Cindy, showing up at Cindy's shows etc., uplift her in marvelous ways. We do ask you to keep it up.
Cindy started out doing rounds of chemo and it made her super sick. She’s had good days and bad days. So, after a lot of research and contemplation, she’s now doing a lot of non-conventional cancer treatments. She’s feeling better and her spirits are up. But sadly, none of the non-conventional treatments are covered by insurance. There will be many steps and many decisions throughout this process. There's been fear and hope and all of this is nothing we've been taught how to handle.
So here I am, humbly reaching out for any support to help Cindy and her family cover the enormous costs to fight this battle. Through GoFundMe you can donate any monetary amount – and I know Cindy and her family would be beyond grateful!
Cindy has been such an inspiration to so many over the years. She is spiritual, funny and a firecracker. Even through this journey of healing, she is teaching others through meditation and performing on stage and making us laugh.
