For many Star Wars fans the dream of wielding a lightsaber has been a part of their lives since they first saw the films. Thanks to the vision of the Founding Masters of the LudoSport Interational Lightsaber Combat Academy (starting in 2006), that dream can now be a reality. With 7 combat styles, based on the lore from the Star Wars universe, and a codified advancement, tournaments, and even dueling rules; can learn the common language of the lightsaber.

LudoSport already has Academies across Europe and even on both American coasts. Our goal to bring this vision to the middle of North America, starting in Grand Forks, ND and spreading into the surrounding states and Canada.

LudoSport stresses safety, fun, and friendly competition using one of the most iconic film weapons ever created. Students of all ages are welcome and since the sports creation, there have been equal opportunities for men and women to compete and advance.

Without your donations our dream is doomed to fail like a poorly planned attack on the Death Star. All donations are appreciated and your name will be added to the Friends of the Force page on our Facebook page. Also please know we appreciate any help given as every dollar is one less we need from loans or other funding. We always welcome questions or comments, as wisdom grows from interaction.

Our funding goals are broken down like this (with immediate goal/goals bolded :


* $8,500 will be used for start-up costs including legal fees, basic equipment and an opening event. All donors will receive an invitation to the opening via interstellar holo-net, or email whichever is easier on the budget at the time. [$3000 put toward these fees]

* $4,500 in Office furniture, equipment, software, and repair tools

*  $6,000 will go toward instructors' training, including travel expenses. All training is sanctioned by LudoSports. ***PARTIAL COMPLETION, one instructor going for immediate training, second to follow at later date, Cost=$4000. ***

* $3,000 for training space and other expenses

*$2,000 in inventory for students uniforms and protective gear

* $2,500 so we can advertise and bring in students

* $11,000 to get more equipment, better training and other features of the LudoSport Franchise

*Any other funds will be used for unforseen business expenses, improvements to gear and location and the like
