Brittany's Recovery

Donation protected
Update: Brittany received a surgery from VCU on 11/26 where they inserted a stint into her pancreas and performed a sphincterectomy. She returned home that day but began to experience severe abdominal pain. She was admitted to the hospital on Thanksgiving 2019 for Pancreatitis and is currently receiving treatment. Your continued support means the world, truly ❤️ Update:
Brittany was readmitted again to the hospital for several days, about 8 weeks after her last hospitalization. Thankfully with persistence and through advocacy for answers, Brittany was diagnosed with Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction Type II and will require surgery and continued care for recovery. Our hope is with this procedure, Brittany will reach full recovery and face zero complications in her future, a wish only time will tell. We can’t thank everyone enough for their continued support throughout this process. It has been especially stressful for Brittany and her family as they are faced with many life changes in their future. Her optimism and continued strives for well-being have been largely inspired by all your kind words, donations, and prayers during this time. Thank you, with all our hearts, for your love and compassion, and may God bless the health and happiness of us all.

Her Story: After several days of "flu-like" symptoms, in what she thought was going to be a quick ER visit for an admission of fluids and a take-home prescription, Brittany was admitted to what would become a 4 day stay in the hospital on March 19th, 2019. Her escalating liver enzyme count kept her in Quarantine for 3 days and a patient of an overwhelming amount of unexpected tests, necessary medications, and little answers. After 4 long days, Brittany's numbers declined enough for her to be sent home for further rest and recovery. As her and her family wait for answers, they have become overwhelmed by the accumulated costs this emergency created. Unfortunately and like many that are faced with health-crises such as this, insurance only covers so much. Brittany and her loved ones would like to thank everyone that has prayed for her return home, and asks that you could please continue to send positive thoughts and words their way. If you are also able, they would immeasurably appreciate any contribution you could make to her recovery. Every dollar brings them that much closer to answers, and to peace. Thank-you all so very much for for your time and your outpouring of love, may God bless the health and happiness of us all.
