Misfortunes often comes in threes; however, for Heather Jones Prutzman it has come much harder. On June 21, 2017, she lost her mom to cancer after a long battle. Four months later on October 17, 2017, her only son, Joey, was in a tradgic car accident and passed away from massive brain trauma. Tragedy struck again five months later on March 4, 2018, when her older brother, Daniel "Danny" Jones, died suddenly and unexpectedly. Heather also lost her beloved horse, Rolex on October 16, 2016 almost one year to the day she lost her son. On June 7, 2018, she received yet another blow as she was diagnosed with a rare type of multiple myeloma cancer. Aggressive therapy was started in the hopes of her going into remissions as there is no cure for this disease. Her treatment options include a stem cell transplant and possibly a bone marrow transplant. As with all cancer treatments, the side effects are harsh. As recently as last week she was diagnosed with pneumonia.
Since the death of her son in October of 2017, Heather has been unable to work as she has been suffering from on PTSD, anxiety and depression. Her loving and devoted husband, John Prutzman, is a truck driver and works hard to provide for the family and is gone weeks at a time which has been very difficult for them with him not being able to be home with her, since he is their primary source of income. As many medical bills have already piled up and will continue to, along with travel expenses to her appointments, it is my hope that this GoFundMe page will help alleviate some of the monetary stress for this family so they can focus on Heather's health without additional worry. When Heather is able to receive her transplants, her husband, John will be required to stay with her as her caregiver and will be taking FMLA. However, he will not be paid during the several weeks he will be off caring for Heather. Therefore, there will be very little to no income. Even the smallest amount can be beneficial in giving them peace of mind during this incredibly difficult time. Heather has the most kind, caring and giving heart and I personally believe she needs some bit of hope and happiness back in her life. She continues to remain strong and hopeful, which I have no idea how she is doing it after all she has endured within 11 months. Thank you all for your continued prayers, love and support for Heather and John. ❤❤
