Medical expenses for the Smith Family

The Smith Family has received some devasting news about their baby boy, due January 18th. This pregnancy was a very welcome and wanted addition to their family. They will be traveling to Washington for healthcare. The money raised will help cover travel expenses, healthcare, and time off work.

This has been one of the hardest weeks that James and I will likely ever endure.

We had our 20 week anatomy scan for baby on 8/23. After the ultrasound we were informed that the baby had some abnormalities present and we were referred to MFM.

On 8/24 a further scan was performed and it was concluded that some serious heart defects were detected.

On 8/25 we met with a pediatric cardiologist and it was confirmed that the baby essentially has a left ventricle that is non-functional, an aortic valve that is non-functional, and suspect some other fatal abnormalities in the heart structure.

Due to the above findings the baby will be unable to survive birth. We are happy to answer any questions privately. We appreciate everyone keeping us in your thoughts as we try to navigate this devastating news.
