When VU opened the doors of the KC/Lenexa office in 2018 one of our first Software Developers was Skylar Carnes.

He and wife, Carly, share a love of the outdoors so on a trip to the mountains he presented her with a very a special rock (in the Rockies) in 2019. A June 4, 2022 wedding was planned but just days before it they learned that Carly has stage 3 melanoma.

The wedding proceeded as planned, however the honeymoon had to be postponed and Carly started treatments.

Carly is undergoing treatment that will continue until May of 2023. If you would like to support them during this difficult time, please do what you can. They are two of the nicest people you will ever meet!
