Since March 2023, No Canyon Hills (NCH) has been advocating for expanded Environmental Review for the proposed “Canyon Hills” development in the Verdugo Mountains in Los Angeles. Slated to be built on 300+ acres of significant ecological habitat, the development project will see mountain peaks graded in order to build 221-home luxury homes in a private, gated tract.
In allyship with the earth and its many inhabitants, NCH has simultaneously been working to realize a conservation solution: our top level goal is to conserve the land in perpetuity with an indigenous-led co-stewardship plan.
Our efforts have yielded so much to be proud of—events, collaboration, art, music, learning, experiences, and much more. We are so grateful for the collective energy powering NCH, and now we need your help: the “Canyon Hills” developer is suing NCH and associated individuals, and we must raise a reasonable sum in order to defend our work and the right to free speech in service of the public good.
