ABOUT ME:
I have been entrepreneurial since I was a little girl.
First, I wanted to make perfume. So I created a fragrance made from food coloring, sugar, dad's cologne and tea. I filled up the initial batch in my Mimi's vintage perfume bottle and started going door-to-door in my neighborhood. Two neighbors bought the perfume, but asked that I bring it back in a another container. I completed the two orders and then lost interest. Plus the potion smelled horrible.
I moved on to bug spray and coffee plants. But they only held my attention for a few weeks.
Then I started writing stories. My stories were filled with unicorns, elaborate tree houses and abnormally smart hamsters. Every weekend around noon, I would knock on my neighbors' front doors with an illustrated story of the latest unicorn adventure on a yellow legal pad. My neighbors would give me a dollar or two, (probably grateful that I had stopped trying to sell them perfume and bug spray) and I would go back home feeling proud, ready to start my next story.
Twenty years later, I still love sharing stories.
Today, I work as a full-time freelance writer in Kansas City. I create and curate content for socially conscious companies across the US. I love to help brands tell their story.
So...
WHY AM I ASKING YOU TO GIVE ME MONEY?
This is an exciting year for me. I just started working for myself this year. I had my first article in the Huffington Post and I was accepted into an amazing entrepreneurial program.
The problem:
The program is expensive.
This 8-month immersion program would bring me together with other writers, entrepreneurs, socially conscious creators, mentors and thought leaders across the globe. During the 8-month journey I would need to travel to three workshops. The first workshop is in Costa Rica.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Donate.
Your donation would help me raise the funds I need for this amazing educational opportunity.
(Remember, no amount is too small.)
Thank you for your help on my journey. I'm grateful for your time in consideration.
Happy dreaming!
